Seoul Campus Town
The Seoul Campus Town project is Seoul RISE's flagship university-community partnership model, fostering an innovative startup ecosystem within the city by facilitating entrepreneurship, urban regeneration, and youth vitality through collaboration between universities and local communities.

■ Implementation Direction: Establish tailored startup support systems aligned with university characteristics, positioning campuses as youth entrepreneurship hubs.
- (Startup Preparation) Operate structured, curriculum-based entrepreneurship education to develop practically skilled startup talent.
- (Startup Execution) Facilitate successful integration of outstanding talent into the startup ecosystem by linking them with Campus Town and municipal startup support facilities.
■ Application Plan: Announce the call for proposals in the second half of 2025, select universities to conduct projects for two years starting from 2026.
■ Selection Scale: Around 20 universities selected for 2026 (two-year period) / Support up to KRW 1.5 billion annually per institution.
■ Application Eligibility: Individual universities or university consortiums.
- Consortiums can be formed by two or more universities or in cooperation with Seoul local governments.
- Cooperation is possible not only with local districts where universities are located but also with other districts.
■ Key Activities: Entrepreneurship education, identification, and nurturing of early-stage startups within universities and local communities.
- Provide startup office space (3–5 persons per team), business development funds, business model advancement, and investment attraction capacity-building programs.
Hanyang Global Startup Hub
Hanyang University operates Global Startup Hub Centers in innovation hotspots such as Silicon Valley and Shanghai, leveraging its overseas alumni expert network to provide customized startup mentoring and support for market entry.
■ Hanyang University Global Startup Hub
- Silicon Valley, New York: On January 29, 2015, Hanyang University opened Entrepreneurship Center offices in Silicon Valley and New York (HYU Entrepreneurship Center – Silicon Valley Office, New York Office). These offices serve as strategic bases for global employment and entrepreneurship, offering Hanyang University students opportunities for jobs and startups in the United States. They provide Hanyang faculty, student entrepreneurs, and alumni startups with meetups with global corporations, technology and market validation, and consulting services to support international expansion.
- Seattle: On August 1, 2022, Hanyang University established the Seattle Startup Hub Center in collaboration with TecAce, an alumni-founded company based in Seattle, USA. This center supports Hanyang University graduates and current students aiming to launch startups in the United States. TecAce provides dedicated workspace for Hanyang startups in its new headquarters located in Bellevue, Seattle.
- Shanghai: On October 29, 2004, Hanyang University became the first Korean university to establish an overseas branch, the Hanyang China Center, in Shanghai, China (officially incorporated on August 17, 2007). The Hanyang China Center recruits talented Chinese students, supports internships and employment opportunities primarily for Chinese students, facilitates entry of university-based startups into Chinese innovation centers through partnerships, and promotes global industry-academic collaboration with Chinese universities such as Shandong University. ■ Global Accelerating Partners
- Operates global accelerating partnerships in collaboration with domestic and international VCs and accelerators to support investment attraction, global market entry, and localized incubation for promising startups.
